Atariman's Blog (He calls it his BLG)

May 22, 2008

Just installed the fancy new blog-type-thing on the webpage today (w00t).  This feature was not available back in 2003 when this site first went up (I think it was 2003 - supposedly this site has been up for 289 weeks).

I could post all sorts of insane ramblings here, but I'll probably keep it pretty short.  Installed StarCraft and the Boord War expansion - it sent shivers up my spine to be playing with my little group of Firebats and Marines, toasting the Zerg.  (That's toasted, not fried)

The interesting thing is that my strategy has changed since I last played it so many years ago.  My old strategy was to build up a bunch of SVCs until I had a nice flow of minerals and Vespene gas coming in, building some marines, anti-air turrets, and bunkers, and then continuing to dig in for the long haul until I felt safe enough to venture outside my base.

While my strategy hasn't changed all *that* much, I have learned the valuable lesson of keeping a number of marines on hand at all times (rather than initially just having a fleet of SVCs that are bound to get attacked sooner or later)...
